DoThread holds journals, moods, check-ins, numbers and checklists, with widgets, markdown, photos, streaks, search, offline use and export.

Most journals wantthree minutesyou do not have.

DoThread takes a sentence, a tick, a face or a figure. All four land on the same timeline, in a thread you named yourself, and they are still there when you go looking six months later.

Thread types

Six kinds of thread. You decide which is which.

All Purpose

The long-form one. Markdown where you want it: headings, lists, quotes, bold. Up to four photos in a single entry. Place and weather attach themselves, if you let them.

Rough start

Slept badly, missed the train, wore the shirt with the stain.

Then the walk at lunch, and the whole thing turned.

  • •low sun on the water
  • Markdown
  • 4 photos
  • Mood
  • Place and weather

Mood Tracker

One tap, one face. Pick from the standard set or write your own when none of them fit.

  • Custom moods
  • Calendar
  • Distribution

Check-In

The swim, the pills, the hour away from a screen. One tick a day, and a streak building behind it.

  • Streaks
  • Activity grid

Number Tracker

Weight, hours slept, pages read. Give it a unit and DoThread charts it week by week.

  • Custom units
  • Trend chart

Checklist

A reading list, a packing list, the films you keep meaning to watch. It stays a list.

  • Reorderable
  • Face ID

Canvas

DoThread Pro

No timeline at all. One endless page that grows downward for as long as you keep adding to it, like a scrapbook that never runs out of paper.

CanvasDoThread Pro

Your story,one page.

Write anywhere. Drop in photos, clips and stickers. Arrange a memory the way it felt.

A canvas thread drops the timeline entirely. One endless page that grows downward for as long as you keep adding to it. A freeform journal, a visual diary, a digital scrapbook that never runs out of paper.

  • Still syncs with iCloud, still turns up in search
  • Still counts toward your streaks, still exports
  • Export the whole page as a single PDF

Write in your own hand

Four handwriting faces beside serif, rounded and mono. Pinch any block to size the type itself, 9 to 96 pt, then colour the ink, wash the paper behind it, or leave it clear so the texture shows through the letters.

A canvas page with a rainbow sticker, a photograph of coffee and a note on mint coloured paper

Photos, clips and stickers

Ten photos in one import, cropped with corner handles. Clips up to ten seconds, trimmed in the app, looping silently and only while they are on screen. Eighteen stickers drawn for journaling, plus any emoji you like.

Yours to arrange

Everything drags, resizes and rotates. Colour the paper and pick a texture: dots, grid, lines, doodles, botanical or celestial. Each piece can carry the date it was added. Export the page as one PDF, exactly as it looks.

One page, one year. Coffee, then snow, then an evening by the water, then the day she said yes.

Common questions

The short answers.

Nothing to download, and nothing to use. DoThread Pro is $4.99 a month and adds canvas threads.

A sixth kind of thread with no timeline. One endless page you write on anywhere, with photos, clips and stickers you arrange by hand. It is part of DoThread Pro, and everything on it still syncs, turns up in search, counts toward streaks and exports like any other thread.

No. There is no sign-up, no email, no password. Nothing about you leaves the device unless you switch on sync yourself.

On your device. Turn on iCloud and it syncs across your Apple devices through your own iCloud account. Prefer your own server? Point it at WebDAV instead. Either way it never touches ours.

Export to Markdown, or take a full backup: one plain JSON file containing every thread, entry, custom mood and photo. Restore it later by merging into what is there, or replacing it.

Entirely. Sync is a convenience, not a requirement.

iPhone, iPad and Mac, with Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, a Control Centre control you can put on the Action Button, plus Siri and Shortcuts support.
